AGADIR DAY TRIP TO TAROUDANT AND TIOUT
Discover the 16th century capital of the Saadian Empire on a day trip from Agadir to Taroudant.
Taking a gentle drive through the souss plain, including a stop along the way to observe flying goats on Argan trees, we will reach Taroudant, an ancient walled city overlooking the high Atlas mountains.
After visiting Taroudant's small traditional souk and climbing the fortified ramparts, we will drive to the Oasis and Kasbah of Tiout, where a delicious lunch awaits.
Then you can take a donkey ride through the palm trees and explore the Kasbah where Ali Baba and the 40 thieves was filmed in the 50s.
Notes to Consider:
On the way back from Taroudant, there is the possibility of free drop-off at the airport of Agadir, around 16h30.
Itinerary
➊ You will be picked up from your hotel in Agadir around 8h30 in the morning (8 o'clock for Taghazout hotels).
➋ A stop at "goats on the tree" will be the first stop of the day, to see goats climbing the argan tree and picking up argan nuts.
➌ Around 11 o'clock, we arrive at Taroudant, the ex-capital of the Saadi Dynasty in the 16th century.
➍ Taroudant's local market and the walled city is a must-see.
➎ We continue on the road for 30 minutes towards the Oasis of Tiout.
➏ A stop at the Panoramic Kasbah of Tiout for lunch (Tajine and Couscous).
➐ As soon as lunch is over, we will start exploring the Oasis of Tiout with a local guide, and there will be the option to ride donkeys in the Oasis.
➑ Around 5 o'clock in the afternoon, we return to the hotel after the Oasis tour.
